The symbolic representation of opposites and their interaction is a recurrent theme of my artistic practice. The work explores the interdependence of nature/culture, dark/light, microcosm/macrocosm, seduction and repulsion. Pulse is a series of work that explores the relationships between forms and their points of intersection or collision, Pattern and repetition create the visual tension, Tiny hair-like filaments search for the possibility of contact. These hairy peripheries emanate from a dense mass of replicating pattern, which is eventually defined by form.

This diptych is based on spaces constructed using Euclid's Rule with emphasis on architectural forms and the polemics of space. Four copper plates have been used in an attempt to suggest that the layers beneath each determine a specific experience of a space: a kind of chaos and order emerges in its completion.

I created the panel after visiting frescoes and wall stencils in the villages around where my ancestors came from in Bellinzona, in the Swiss-Italian canton of Ticino. Digital technology is able to manipulate and transform and dissipate or add to what was once the 'original' artwork. This image is, by the time you see it, like me, the fourth generation of the 'original'.

Like William Lanney, the last Tasmanian Aborigine, he has been given the grand title of king. This loyal corgi is surrounded by royal accessories - covered with the pelts from the colonial tiger - the thylacine. He wears a regal woolly coat which refers to the colonisation of the thylacine's habitat by the sheep industry. The discarded glove represents the cultural defeat of the indigenous inhabitants.

Inkjet print Edition of 40 Image size: 15 x 23 cm x 2 Paper size: 20.8 x 27.6 cm x 2 PCA Print Commission 2003 I made Another Day in response to a weather forecast I read in a daily newspaper during a recent trip to the UK. It informed the British public that because it would drizzle that day then it would be a miserable day. This diptych, of the same photographic image with opposing texts about the weather, could just as easily be describing moods or the way we feel.
