In a formal sense, this work looks at how compositional boundaries can be used to establish relationships among their internal parts. There is seduction in its repetition, with no static hierarchy at its centre or periphery, resulting in a state of fluidity and of floating.

Three similar tanks were used by the artist Ian Fairweather to construct a raft in which he attempted to sail from Darwin to Indonesia in 1952. The journey was perilous, and Fairweather and the remains of the raft were washed up on the island of Roti. I am interested in the metaphoric significance of the 'drop tank'.

As a form of commentary on these issues Held II explores the dialogue between particular landforms and fragments of the figure. The precipitous terrain depicted in Held II is both topographic as well as text derived and comments on our current state of uncertainty and dislocation from the natural world.

They both express and relieve anxiety. These beads are made of casein derived from my breast milk. The act of making the plastic, crafting and stringing the beads, documenting them in use, and finally creating the screenprints is a meditation on the worry and love inherent in parenting.

Fund in a field next to our home in Mittagong, these skulls have become a type of 'slate' for exploring ideas, techniques, thoughts and personal references. In this work, through drilling and engraving, the bovine skull takes on the look of a night sky.
