Your help needed to restore grahame galleries + editions

Grahame galleries + editions in Milton was a casualty of Brisbane's devastating flood damage.

The gallery has had a long and fruitful association with the Print Council of Australia through its director Noreen Grahame. Noreen was a PCA Vice President for multiple terms. She has supported hundreds of printmakers and book artists through her gallery and four artists' book fairs. Any offers of assistance towards her gallery's restoration will be gratefully received.

Artworks, personal effects and some fittings were removed before floodwaters reached the gallery. However, building restoration and installation costs will be high, and the gallery will be unable to operate for at least 3-4 months.

For further information about how you can help restore grahame galleries + editions to working order see:

www.grahamegalleries.com

We invite PCA member artists and gallerists who have been affected by recent flood damage to contribute their stories by emailing printcouncil@netspace.net.au.

Call for Artists for 2010 Print Commission closes on Feb 9th

Reminder to artists to get your applications into the Print Council by 9 February 2011. Contact us on adminpca@netspace.net.au to obtain an application form or download from Print Commission page of this website.

VIDEO: Illustrated talk by Professor Paul Coldwell

in April the PCA was proud to host Objects and Journeys, an illustrated talk by visiting British printmaker/artist Professor Paul Coldwell. The talk was held in the historic, and rather glamorous, Reading Room at the Fitzroy Town Hall - where the Print Council has its office - and more than 70 people came along to be part of the evening. Paul gave a great talk about his print and sculptural work and although it was last minute, we managed to record it and I've spent quite a while relearning forgotten sound editing skills! [read more]
